Tonight, three classes, Periods A, B and F have homework, Study Guide 4-6 on Dividing Decimals. The students were told in class that all they must do is move the decimals over (as we did in class) and then rewrite the problem. They are not responsible for doing the actual division. Any division that they do is for extra credit. The reason for this is that I am try to teach them the skill of moving the decimal to the right when dividing a decimal by a decimal and am not concentranting on the actual division at this time. Students will be eligible to retake Quiz 1 on October 19th as long as they follow the set of guidelines sent home today and also available for download on my web site on my new "Quiz Retake" page. The students have been reviewing their Summer Math Packets, using the interactive "clicker" technology, which gives us the opportunity to see immediately if the answers are right or wrong, and to have a bright and visual way of going over the answers, step-by-step. Tonight, I gave three classes and tomorrow the fourth will get a 3-page packet of NECAP review questions. There are only ten problems. The packet is not due until Friday, after the Reading NECAP testing is over. The link to the pages on my wiki is:
